The motto of the new town would be "women never make mistakes, and men can never refuse women's requests,"

At least the second part of that motto is close to reality.

In most places things ARE the reverse. Men hold most of the control, guy.

This is basically what FOX News does, as portrayed by Penny Arcade: That's not FOX News. That's a FOX local affiliate's evening news. Huge fucking difference. FOX as a global corporation doesn't control the local news stories. If you'll notice, that DS story was aired on one single FOX affiliate. N...

As for the use of "day" in the story of Creation: I always chalked it up to a lack of a suitable long term for the time taken when it was "told" to the original author (whomever the hell it was that wrote it down). I doubt there was any good word for "a couple billion years" at the dawn of history....

I can answer that question. :-? God never, across the course of the bible, acts outright an obvious to his existence. He's always discreet, using a burning bush or a flood or a humanoid angel to do his work for him. It makes sense along these lines that he'd hold himself back and slowly instead of j...

Huh? You lost me on your first part. As to Omnisentience and Omnipresence, God had neither before the New Testament. He had to rest after the first six days of Creation, he had to send angels into Sodom to investigate the number of moral souls living in it, etc. The concepts of omnisentience and omn...

I always type out proper english when IM'ing, without fail. :) I can't stand u's replacing you, or any of the things xnapalmxmorningx pointed out. I also never use lol, but will use wtf or omg or something like that jokingly, as well as the occasional l33t-speak codework in a self-mocking manner.

Putaro has answered for me. If evidence is being sought, the rules of evidence based reasoning apply, not pure logic or philosophy. As I wrote before, as soon as the use of evidence is considered, there cannot be absolute, pure certainty. There is always the infinitesmal chance that data is corrupt...

Too many people think of race as a societal group, or classification of personality, rather than just a skin color. :| When I told a girlfriend of mine, that had known me for five years before this, that I had found out my grandfather was jewish, she instantly said to me "I guess this means you won'...

*muses to herself* Actually Jetsetlemming, my Grandfather believes in evolution (you know, the Christian Anglican Reverend I mentioned pages ago) has done so for as long as I remember.... Why is the only notable movement against Evolution based in the USA's Bible belt? What makes them that extra bi...

Awkward is that canadian girl with the wonderful avatar. :D

An awkward situation.... Fapping in the bathroom, only to hear, just as you're close to climax, hearing your little brother knock on the door, asking if you're done yet.

uc wat i did thar? Yeah, I did... "I know you are, but what am I?" What a brilliant retort. Why didn't I think of it...? I'm not a zealot, I'm not driven by a single belief, and I have no intention of converting anyone to my way of thinking. I'm not a Christian, I've never talked anyone into being ...

Squid, I'm not sure how you got that conclusion of what the quote meant, but I think you focused on the wrong part. The meaning of the quote was to become like your enemy. Honor, in railing against religon, and going on about zealots and those blinded by religon has become, in effect, an athiest mis...

I'm in this conversation (the specific sub-thread with you, I mean) for one reason and one reason only... I love it when the light-bulb goes on over someone's head and they wake up from the long coma of a godless lack of faith to the warm sunlight of reality, our lord Jesus Christ. It's the same re...

I see her point... I think... I just don't see the point to her point. I don't see the how or why of arguing that Christianity and crack are on the same level. :/ This is making it really hard for me to, you know, seriously mount a full-blown argument. ("mounting" and "full-blown" specifically used ...
