Re: COMIC: The Adventures of Kanira Baxter
Mmhmm, mmhmm, story and universe are important, but few will care about that if the artwork is off-putting. TaoKB could have the most amazing soap opera on the internet, but it doesn't matter if no one will read your comic because the art is awkward and uncomfortable. Your artwork is awkward and unc...

Re: COMIC: The Adventures of Kanira Baxter
I think everyone's right when they say the eyes should be fixed. They look less like eyes and more like sunglasses with big bug eyes painted on them, making it look like the only facial expression they have is the wide eyed stare. So I would say tweak the eyes a bit so they fit better in the head (S...

Re: In-depth manga critique, please
Honestly, I feel if I'd spent more time in my teen years trying to draw the "real" way rather than attempting to draw the "kawaii anime" way, I'd be a lot farther in terms of artistic skill. Just drawing manga and just learning manga style leaves out a lot of information critical to becoming good at...

Re: How am I doing?
Heh, The two pics of the dragon girl on the top right remind me of how the Egyptians drew, with the top half of the body facing towards the viewer while the feet face forward and spaced apart so you can see them both. That might actually be a good look for a comic if you could hone it. It seems you ...

Re: What's your excuse
A) Going through emotional cycles. For two days it's all "this comic's turning out ok. This is fun." Then the next two day I'm all "This is TERRIBLE! I'm a horrible writer and a terrible artist! Why won't I get better? I am in despair!" So I play Zelda for two days and then I'm soon back to phase on...

Re: In-depth manga critique, please
I think your biggest problem is you're only drawing from your head, and like a computer you can only work with what's already installed. For example, you don't know how to draw arms. Thickness, length, depth, you don't know any of that, so you're going to have to go out and draw some arms. Real arms...

Re: Experimental Sprite Comic: Death By Chibi (take 2)
I dunno. It looks like a duck, quacks like a duck.... Yes, it IS a sprite comic. We look at your comic and we see sprites, and they're in a comic. It doesn't matter how they were drawn. It's like saying a comic isn't a comic because it was done in red pen instead of black. I've watched my friends ma...

Ooohhh, I've always wanted to join one of these things. Here's mine. This guy's taken some of my worst practice art abuse.

Holy snuff muffins! Nothing like lining up all your old art to see how much you've improved.

Re: Experimental Sprite Comic: Death By Chibi (take 2)
Sprite comics have been dead for quite some time. There's not much more you or anyone can do with it. You're entering a battle that was already long lost. Anyways... Any artistic advice I can give is: 1. All your characters have around one pose and expression, two if you count them standing sideways...

Re: Why is this not working?!
Ahh, I remember when I first signed up and started working on my webpage. I must've stared at those tutorials for two hours, brows knit, and a giant question mark over my head. But I kept at it, kept trying things, and eventually I got it. It's good to know a little about how webpages work anyways, ...

Excellent website for learning to draw people
There are a lot of manga/superhero/realism comics on here and around the web, and a fairly large (aka almost all) could really use a lesson in drawing anatomy (most consist of headshot after ruddy headshot). They all complain they can't afford drawing classes, or find those how-to-draw books confusi...

Re: Need voice actors especially for a catgirl!
Well the only way to get good at drawing different camera angles is to draw different camera angles, even if you think it looks like crap! In fact, it's even kinda good if you think it looks like crap because that means you're determined to improve.

Re: Need voice actors especially for a catgirl!
You could also just use subtitles and random sound effects for their voices like lots of older video games did (such as a violin for one person's voice and a bumblebee buzzing for the next). It could sound really cool if you did it right. Also, I just have to say this about your comic because it's b...

Heh, sorry, I'm not good at this pitching thing yet, first webcomic and all. It's because it's a unique and original story that doesn't use game sprites, self-inserts, video games, copy-paste, stick men, yaoi, furries or is fan-fiction for Naruto or mmorpg or however you spell it. (Though saying all...
