That's true. Maybe we should invade it before we leave.

Re: Random thought for the day

Playing drums in a fursuit makes it funny. I've wanted to wear a rabbit suit and play drums in a music video. :) I think the flaming lips have already done that though. I know they've had Justin Timberlake in a dolphin suit playing bass, and nothing I've done has gotten big enough to warrant a video.

Re: Random thought for the day

So now that Obama is elected, a lot of video and printed ads seem to be using a slender middle-aged man of African descent. I think what this all means is that the Advertising Industry is banking on there being a positive association in the average consurmer's mind with this character type. I'm sur...

Re: Random thought for the day

Animation comes in all styles and tones, and there's plenty of edgy stuff, you just have to look outside current American mainstream. For example: Fear(s) of the dark Aachi & Ssipak Renaissance Paprika I've seen Renaissance, at least part of it, and Paprika. Renaissance was pretty good. I don't rem...

Re: Random thought for the day

I'd better confess here and now that I don't have Adult Swim, because I don't watch enough tv to justify buying more cable service than I have. I concede that shows like South Park, Bevis and Butthead and others which I've seen maybe one episode of are very edgy content-wise. Most of the time I hav...

Re: Random thought for the day

I do agree with your basic point: animation has gotten softer. I would like to see much more hardcore, darker fare. Batman the Animated Series and the movie from that are good examples. The X-Man animated series was good too, but it didn't push as many boundaries. I don't think American Animation w...

Re: Random thought for the day

Kid's probably won't remember Shrek the way they'll remember the Secret of NIMH. It think it's a little hard to compare the two. Light moralistic comedy versus dark sci-fi. 1982 versus 2001. The Incredibles versus Shrek might be a better comparison point. I haven't seen anything that could compare ...

Re: Severed Ties ------->The current arc

Hmm, are nurses supposed to flirt with patients like that? I think it brightens the workday for them, if they get a young and cute patient. I'm sure every young nurse with average or better looks has been clumsily hit upon by ugly and uncouth old bastards that fancy themselves as "colorful". Chatti...

Re: Random thought for the day

I think that's what upsets me. There are of course all sorts of reps and obviously a whole lot of good people there too. Not that I could ever agree with an entirely unregulated market and a complete removal of social safety nets, which I think is a misguided practice. Mainly because you'd see a de...

It's twenty-five, so you still have a few years. Then again, you'll probably have gotten over you're teen spirit before that, so maybe not.
