Re: Reader comments.
Mostly what I mean is this obsession the internet has that elevates reader comments as the most important thing…Basically putting your vision on the auction block to be bought with a kind word or two…There are some who open their mouths and they turn out to have something insightful to say, sure. B...

Re: Harvey Pekar RIP.
I've sometimes wondered if Crumb and Pekar had a falling out, because they seemed to stop working together after awhile. But maybe it's because Pekar was able to find other illustrators and Crumb, of course, always had his own work to do.
I agree, a memorial issue of AS would be awesome.

Re: Harvey Pekar RIP.
Pekar is as big an influence on my work as anyone. But don't let that deter you from checking out his work, if you're not already familiar with it. Pekar tried to take comics in a direction that I wish they would have gone.

Re: Pushing yourself to be better?
I hate everything I do five seconds after I’ve finished it too, I think that’s pretty normal for an artist (or whatever I am). That being said, it got me to thinking… There are many cartoonists whose earlier work I prefer to their later work. The reasons vary from artist to artist; maybe their later...

Re: Thoughts on starting over
Hi! I don't know how many of you guys remember me, but I used to do a comic here a while ago. I'm just about ready to start a new one, and I'm wondering if anybody else here ever went through the process of ending a comic, going through an extended hiatus, and then starting over? I have the unfortu...

Re: Read any good webcomic lately?
I’ve found Dawn of Time to be pretty irresistible. Oh, I've read that, very autobiographic, don't you think? Maybe, but if it is, you gotta admit it’s pretty impressive that a time-traveling cavegirl was able to become computer-literate enough to produce a “this is my random life” strip. And have t...

What do you use for your thin cross hatching lines? I assume you don’t use a brush for those.

Re: Discussion Topic for current story line.
Just outta curiosity, which fancy new brush pen is that? I’ve been experimenting with a coupla new ones lately myself (a Kuretake No. 13 and a Pentel Pocket Brush Pen, also known as a GFKP). They’re actually for calligraphy, but I like the line variation I get with them. Before that I was using a Fa...

Re: Things I Need To Do.
Is it a lot of wordless panels, or did you mean thematically? Both, actually. Not all their stuff is wordless panels (most of it is not) and they explore many different themes. It just seemed to me that Things would have fit easily into one of their books. I haven’t seen any of their recent work. I...

Re: Things I Need To Do.
I’m guessing you’re a fan of the Hernandez Brothers (Love and Rockets—the comic, not the band); this story seems especially inspired by some of their stuff. Or maybe it’s just a coincidence. Either way, it’s good (I’m not accusing you of ripping them off, it’s just similar stylistically).

Re: mcDuff's reviewalicious thread
Thank you for a thoughtful and insightful review, McDuff. Your comments are valuable to me. Definitely worth the wait. I usually link to my reviews, but I don't want to link to a forum thread. Do you mind if I create an html page with your review on it to include in my site? *Of course, I know exact...
