I've been producing 2 pages per week for a while now, and the update sched...

Check out my new comic, GULCH!

Hey, haven't posted here for a while, but I need some help! We used to do Tarlickers and Gunbaby, if anyone remembers. Anyway, my brother and I now have a new comic on Zuda. Zuda's a DC comics company that runs a webcomic competition every month, with the winner of each being offered a contract to p...

I'll bite. My comic is pretty young and not too well known yet. It's called "Gun Baby" and is set in an alternate universe, with technology roughly equivilent to earth in its early jet age. There's also elements of fantasy and scifi. http://www.gunbaby.com http://www.gunbaby.com/comics/00000033.jpg

Come check out Gun Baby, the scifi epic

Gun Baby is a graphic novel set in a far away world in its early jet age. Most technology roughly equates to earth from the 50s to 70s, however there are more exotic sci fi and fantasy elements as well -- Such as more unearthly tech and gadgets, strange creatures, and the existence of magic. http://...

Introducing Gun Baby

Gun Baby is an online graphic novel set in a far away world. The "feel" and technology level is a bit old timey, and ranges from being reminiscent of 50s earth to 80s earth. It's an epic, about a war, shady politics, strange creatures, and a young girl who gets caught up in it. We've just started an...

haven't had to make a crowd so far, but what I'd probably do is somewhat similar to what some movies do. I'd draw a cluster of complete people then paste the cluster over and over. you can flip some of the clusters to make them seem more random. maybe do some other tweaking to make it all mesh well....

yeah, if you're working with an artist, it's usually nice if you can attempt to make simple storyboards to show him how you want the page laid out and paced. Although some artists would prefer to do it themselves or will have modifications to make, I think a lot would find it helpful. I usually do t...

my brother does the majority of the writing for the comics we've done. Trust me, he can churn out quite a few pages in a couple hours. 1 page can take me between 15 and 30 hours to illustrate.

I said no. And the reason is because you said the character lost his parents and sibling at a young age. I stopped reading shortly after that. You might want to rethink your plans to tread painfully, painfully, painfully overdone/cheesy story conventions. Not to mention anime characters that are all...

thanks for the compliment. :) I'll explain how I drew this picture, sure. the leaves were a challenge! I wanted to make them look good and not have an overly recognizable pattern, but I also didn't want to shoot myself. those were the criteria going in! I began by drawing basic trunk shapes with a f...

I'm very flattered, I'll take it as a compliment. :) what quality do you think it is that makes them appear that way? the black lines on top and bottom make you think of letterboxes?

thanks... I obsess over every panel, that's why it's taking me so long to get this comic off the ground. I don't know much about animation, no. I've attempted animation before but never gotten anywhere with it. If your question is do I do it professionally -- that's a hard no. I'm definitely not qua...

It took a lot of tinkering to get trees how I want them. For a while I was afraid I couldn't do it.

you guys think this image is too dark? my problem is it looks sorta darker than I intended on the CRT monitor downstairs, but looks as intended on the LCD.

what we're looking at isn't jpeg degredation. it's not a format issue. saving this as a png wouldn't look any different. the issue is he's using the paintbucket tool with apparently a high tolerance setting and he's not going in and cleaning up what it doesn't fill. paint bucket tool tends to leave ...

thanks! you're right that those are "sketchy" costume pieces, but you're also right that my faces need work. I have been looking at disney animated feature references for the most part in trying to get them right, and I'm getting there, but I still have more to do. feet are one of those things that ...

Gun Baby concept imagery

Without giving too much away, it's an epic set in an alternate earth. In the story are biomechanical giant birds, cats, and WW2-era style tanks and planes. There's action, adventure, and political intrigue. :) Here's some art from the work in progress! Thoughts are welcome. http://www.gunbaby.com/sk...

I'd suggest using the brush tool as opposed to the pencil tool.
