Thanks very much for the input! I appreciate it. Yes, religion is a risky topic but we knew that from the beginning. But this is a slice of life comic with a religious theme. Thank you for the kind words about the improved lettering. We're taking a different -- and hopefully even better approach to ...

Book Three?
Yes, I am completing work on the last 4 pages of Book Two. They will be scanned, edited and put online over the next week or so.
This means Book Three is on the horizon! Look for it...
Best Wishes,
Allen

Due East - Nearing End of Book 2, Soon To Start Book 3!
It's funny, it took me and my wife nearly 4 years to do the 38 strips that made up Book 1 but it only took 4 months to do Book 2. I think part of that is that I am much more familiar with the full-page comic book format than the comic strip format. It also made it easier to plan the story and dialog...

'Armageddon' -- Bwah ha ha!
I love the Apokolips parody -- with a twist! And so mundane...funny!
Thanks for the Monday morning laugh.

Book Two Begins...
Book Two of Due East is about to start! It will be in full comic book format, as opposed to the original comic strip format and will be approximately 30 - 35 pages per issue.
I apologize that it's been a bit of a wait but the inspiration just has to be there.
Please check back for updates.

How Do I Get My Comic In The Comic Genesis Comics Listing?
Due East has been a part of CG since it was Keenspace, but when I search the comics listings under specific category or general A-Z listing, I don't find Due East anywhere.
What do I need to do to get it listed? Thanks!

Hi ShardZ, Yes in the first comic and the 12th comic, I used computerized lettering (good eye!) and in the 5th strip, it was meant to be frenetic and hurried-looking, almost to illegibility, because that was Crystal's state of mind at the time. Re-lettering the initial strips may be near-impos...
I scan the images in and modify (as necessary) using Paint Shop Pro 6 (archaic but it gets the job done). Sorry about the lettering. That is one area that I may experiment with larger lettering in Book Two. I prefer to hand render the letters because (a) I've been doing that since 1980; and (b) it's...

I started out on full-sized comic books , usually at least 20 pages per issue (sometimes more, as needed) so doing comic strips has been a challenge. I also wanted to bend the rules a bit so that, if we needed a bit more room to express the art or the story idea, we took the room we needed. This led...

Hey there! I appreciate all the replies thus far, very helpful perspectives, one and all. I also appreciate the feedback below on Due East from ShardZ. (I love Zebra Girl! I've read the whole thing...) The blur is only for special effects, either to depict motion or dream sequences. Sorry about the ...

Serious Comics Vs. Funny Comics
From what I've seen here, it seems like most people like "funny" comic strips a bit more than "serious" strips. Me, I like a mixture. My strip "Due East" has a serious story with a good bit of humor thrown in. Is it just that people like a quick gag or that they don't associate seriousness with comi...
