Re: Think I should Change Hosting?
I've been a little hard on CG but one thing I do like about it over many of the other hosts is the web 1.0 interface that doesn't go totally bananas if you failed to download last night's Firefox beta. It's just kind of a shame that it's all over the place as far as what directions work for what par...

It would seem to me that early, but not too early (like a day or two) would be the best. That way you don't get lost in day of "Arrrrr!" posts or look like a "me too" the next day when everyone's tired of TLAPD. Do people look at Facebook on weekends? Of course, this could be how the Christmas seaso...

Re: Any thoughts on my new comic site?
Site design is nice and clean (and works on IE6, a real rarity these days) but I don't know why every webcomic I go to fills half the screen with stuff that makes me scroll down to start reading the actual story. I'm running in 1280x800 here on my dad's old laptop and my screen at home is widescreen...

Re: Got a blog?
My short-lived webcomic was my blog. I decided that it was too much effort to be another voice in the wilderness and quit publishing it. Much more interested in actually doing stuff than talking about doing stuff. Someday I'd like to do an art blog though.

Pretty much. The new real name policy sucks too. I never did Facebook but alot of my friends who did got really bent out of shape over their real name policy and jumped ship to Google Plus almost immediately. Finally caved because I was already in Google already and then they drop that steaming pile...

As is, the 1st one, but the 3rd one has alot of potential. If you lightened it a little (so the black ship doesn't get lost in the dark blue sky) and maybe put your character on the deck...

Re: How to draw ellipses?
Huh, I didn't know there was a tool for that aside from compasses. Another option would be squarish balloons with rounded corners. I never thought circles worked terribly well for me.

Re: CG Forums Future - How can we help it?
In all honesty, if you all really wanted to restart this place, it would be quite trivial for me to register a domain, throw together some basic management interfaces, and let you run wild on it. I have half a mind to register ComicGenesis2.com or something because what really eats at me about Comic...

Re: Mad Jack
Assuming you're in "siteadmin" already: 1. Click your comic name. 2. Click the second link. It starts with "update/upload comic." 3. Upload all 70 pages. One. At. A. Time. In order too, probably, because I don't know if you can rearrange them easily. Ignore the pog thing for now. It's a manual appro...

Yeah, I finally figured out how to get back into my account and it's more of the same. I've been toying with the idea of bolting this site's layout/design on top of my own engine.

Well yeah, but that's kind of official policy in places that _do_ accept submissions too. At any rate, just repeating what I read while I was trying to find contact info for the site.

Re: Does CG need help?
If you go to the Keenspot homepage and scroll all the way down to company info (incidentally, the only way to find a forum link), it says "QUESTION: Is Keenspot accepting submissions? ANSWER: No, Keenspot is not currently accepting submissions." in 48pt font.

Re: Does CG need help?
McDuffies: In December of 2009, Keenspot officially stopped accepting new webcomics into its collective. Shortly afterward, a leaked internal e-mail outlined a new objective for the website and encouraged current members of the collective to leave: "On July 1st of 2010, Keenspot goes back to being s...

Yeah, they are quite hard to get ahold of. I read somewhere that Keenspot is winding down, so you guys may be even more on your own eventually. It's just weird that I do see stuff happening from time to time but obvious/easy problems are untouched. If Live Search doesn't work, it shouldn't be there....

Does CG need help?
This has been brewing for awhile and it's not just CG but CG is where I am at the moment. Last night, I was trying to find the blurb I used to describe the comic I signed up to publish way back in 2006. And I struggled for nearly an hour before I turned to Google. Although I'd followed Keenspace for...

Re: The Flintstone "Family Guy Style"
Thanks for the links - I'm as starved for something new as anyone else. As for judging from the perspective of a viewer, yes, we can do that...pretty much anywhere really. Believe me, I caught onto American Dad's derivativeness when many were cheering for Family Guy's 4th season (AD has since improv...

Re: The Flintstone "Family Guy Style"
You lost me at "pedestrian." This is a thin line to walk. On the one hand, I want to take issue with judging an animator without a body of work to compare. On the other hand, I don't have much of a body of work to compare myself and it hasn't shut me up. I guess I ought to just dive in and suffer th...

Re: The Flintstone "Family Guy Style"
Maybe McFarlane wanted to do it because Hanna Barbera was where he got his start? A look back at the old "Larry and Steve" (not the film school one, the "What A Cartoon" one) shows he can do slapstick without the crudeness if he wants to. The question really is whether Fox is going to demand a stone...

I thought it was a pretty good comic (reminded me alot of Far Side with a more modern style), but I think you chased people away with this one in particular.

Re: Put together an Animation Studio in India
A better question really would've been: "How do I start a small animation studio here in America?" That's the kind of question I have all of the time. People like to whine and moan about how hard it is to do anything in America. Their answer is always to outsource to China or import people from othe...
