I'm entirely self-taught. There are a number of online tutorials, but the best way to learn is hours of trial and error. Less than a week left before I'm done with my freshman year of college... and so long as I don't suddenly start drooling and slamming my head repeatedly into the desk during my Geo exam, I should finish with an A average for the whole term!

I usually use a variety of comic fonts where the letters automatically come in all capitals, with the shift key simply making them a bit bigger. I just like the look a lot.

MS Paint was how I started with digital artwork back in, oh, 5th grade. It's an ok springboard when you're really new, but if you want to be taken at all seriously, you should invest in a different program.
