The strip is great. But the people I go to movies with would have beaten severally the 'commentators.' They hate it when people wilnot be quiet during movies. And no, they would never believe him. Well, until he showed his ship maybe. Yep.... glares from my seat. I only nudge and shoosh the one I'm...

Query......Why would a Wiccan have anything to do with an Indian burial site? TTBOMK the American Indian didn't practice anything remotely resembling Wicca or Druidism!! :-? Hm... The Frog Mage has never seen a human... How does he know that this is a human child? Size? Do they have pictures of humans, showing the differences? It makes sense that an educated mage would know this, while the swamp folk didn't. The kid looks very thin, and may be starving. This wouldn't b...

AGV's distinction won't do. Yes, floating baskets don't occur without sapient intervention, but neither do baskets themselves. Better yet, for a modern RL example, consider artificially created elements. Is J.T. Seaborg a wizard? Whoohoo! Does that mean I am a sorceress becuase I can create things,...

Re: Windows 98 help needed
Sorry to post this on here, but I am really in a bind and I know we have a lot of experienced people on here. I have tried to fix this problem and searched the web repeatedly for answers, but I have come up with nada. I am trying to install Mechwarrior 2 on a Windows 98 computer. However, the compu...

Re: OT: Why global warming will not finish us off
Because Peak Oil and Peak Gas will force us away from fossil fuels first. My one caveat is if we switch to coal, tar sand and oil shale. Then we WILL be able to pump enough CO2 into the atmosphere to do it. But I think solar will turn out to be better and cheaper in the long run. I rather like the ...

http://www.iht.com/articles/ap/2006/12/12/america/NA_GEN_US_Harry_Potter_Protest.php More crazy HP hating parents. I'm surprised it's still such a hot-button issue. Don't people have anything better to do? Surely there are more harmful things in this world than fiction novels. What is that strange ...

So, does Penny gewt a repremand or a raise over this? THAT is a very good question. On one hand...Penny was very rude. On the other hand, Penny was very rude to Beltaine. that dilema sorta reminded me of this one DIRE PIGEONS I love this. H...

Folding Space I believe it's called. Personally, I prefer Wormholes. We know they exist, just not where they go, how to open them, how large they can be, why they open or really anything about them actually except that they're holes in spacetime that randomly open all over the world and are only a ...

I am highly dissapointed that this particular forum thread is already disolved in controversy revolving around the possibility of RH promoting his 'Christian bias' by having the little raconnans debate the validity of calling themselves wizards. *whew, what a mouthful* I was all ready to make a ligh...

Reminds me of a lesson we had about Cults in class once: we were told to go to any verse in the Bible, change one word all through the text with another word of our choosing, and create a cult in fifteen minutes. ...you are aware, I presume, of the comment regarding Rimmer's parents in Red Dwarf, y...

But... There's proof of FTL. By stretching out a light wave (And there by increasing its speed), scientists have increased light to a speed of approximately 550,000 km/s instead of 300,000. That's light moving faster than 300,000 km/s, so why can't anything else? Light is both a particle and a wave...

[...unWARP!!!] Good evening. Among our national heroes, we have the Niños Héroes ("child" heroes). I don't know why we call them "children" since they were all over 16, I think. During the Mexican-American war, American troops stormed Chapultepec Castle, and those 4 cadets were among the only troop...

From a biology standpoint, I think I can contribute some factual answers to some of the questions raised here. The question was raised early in the thread about when measurable brain activity appears. It appears late in the pregnancy, generally after 21 weeks; and no, it doesn't appear suddenly, no...
