Tips for editorial cartooning...

Okay, I'm the artist for my school's newspaper, and theres gonna be a competition this Saturday. I didn't know until today that I'm going, in the editorial cartooning. I've attended this last year, but I didn't get placed in the top 10. Does anyone have tips for me? =/ I'm sorry if I sound desperate...

Blah! Three hours, time to call quits. Mostly I was making a shoddy repair to the lighting - I thought the lass's right leg was her right arm (still do actually O.o ), realised my mistake an hour in, did a bad repair and everything went to pot, ho hum, looks nice in black and white... Original Mons...

Eh, nearly forgot. I wanted to put something up to be colored too. =p

It's not as clean as other people's, I just want to see what other people's takes on it are.

It's also anthro, so if you don't like the stuff... :-?

I'll put in my little ameteur two cents. I agree with everything else said here, but I think the coat and his braid should wrap about his body more, so that it looks his body's moving horizontal, rather vertical, if you know what I mean. At the moment, it makes him look like his falling towards the ...

Here's my take on Humbug's lineart (which is awesome). http://mrar.250free.com/greeeen.jpg I kinda rushed it half way through. I'm suppose to be packing. ^^ SO that's why the cloth and everything but the skin is shoddy. Woo! Took me about...4 hours. I'm very happy how it came out, though. Humbug, do...

Wow, thanks everybody for the advise. =D I'm sorry I couldn't respond earlier, school's been hectic. Yeah, I'm definetly working on the writing, reworking the script at this moment. I've also decided to give the men colors to differentiate them. Once again, thanks a lot, I apreciate the fact all of ...

Aww, I suppose the humor only works with me and my freind then. But you're right, now that I look at them again, I see it not all that really funny. But it's not really a gag comic, where there's a gag for every strip. I suppose that doesn't really keep people's attention. I'll reworks the dialog fo...

Little Hooded Men

Since it's too early for a plug. and I'm currently in hiatus (damn that sketchbook what eludes me!), I've decided to nip whatever problems I have in the bud before I go too far into the comic. =/

Quick, somebody draw it.

Ten to one the result is McDuffies in a speedo, and/or with boobs.
Extra points for bikini.

excersise: doodling in class in the notes. Warm ups: Doodle, or work on my comic (it's in a style much simpler than what I normally use). I would eat/drink something warm so I can litterally warm up my cold hands. Or play some console games. Yah. There's not much I usually do before I go into my art...

Kids' bodies are underdeveloped, so their head would be bigger in proportion to their bodies than an adult's head. Girls and boys' torsos aren't too different, depending on the age of the kid. Also, there is a stage where the kid is all gangly like, long limbs as they begin to grown upwards. And ple...
