Re: general or partial CG server outage?

Just as I got some huge links this shit has to happen.

So yeah, it'd be lovely if someone would get off their butts and do something about this.

Re: That's how you know it's mine

I dunno...I'd like to think I have an evolved enough style by now that it can't be summed up in a few words or cliches. At least I'm pretty sure I have a style at this point. I write for a number of websites and when I include bits of art in an article I'll often get comments along the lines of "ohh...

Re: Ever do a tally of all the comics you've ever done?

Around 580 Zoology strips, and around 25 Monkey and Mutton strips (and earlier comic connected to Zoology). Other than that I did, I dunno...maybe half a dozen 16 page comics on printer paper as a kid. Zoology is really my first really focused project. I've been into art most of my life, but not nec...

Now back to the bullshit...

Re: Who wants to write a Zoology guest comic?!

Don't worry about it guys, the whole guest comic plan has pretty much fallen through...it's starting to be more hassle than just drawing the comics myself would be, so that's what I'm going to do. Thanks to those that offered though, it was appreciated and maybe I'll get back to you when I manage to...

Who wants to write a Zoology guest comic?!

Hey there folks, I'm going to going on vacation in early October so for the first time ever I'm giving doing a guest-week or two a chance and you, yes you could be a part of it. Zoology is consistently in the top-10-or-so in the Comicgen guide, so you'd get a few hits out of the deal, not to mention...

Re: Hand Drawn Vrs Digital

I sometimes envy she crispness of the lines people who ink digitally get...no matter how clean my inks are there always seems to be a slight loss of clarity when I scan 'em. Of course I'm probably the only person on the planet anal enough to notice, but still. Ultimately though I just don't much enj...

Re: Originality in characters

So...you're talking about making your characters visually original? Either way, the best way to come up with unique characters is to just look at people in real life. Real life human beings are incredibly varied in both personality and appearance...think about the most memorable characters in the co...

Beach doodle with Shandy and Sammy...might use it for the Miss Comicgenesis if I can be bothered to colour it.

Re: Webcomic Hate

I'm...really pretty satisfied with my comic. Now certainly it's not perfect, it still has a way to go, but I've never made it a secret that I want to do this for a living. This isn't just something I'm doing for fun. In the past though it was definitely in the back of my mind that, really, the comic...

Re: What does view stats mean?

Here's the official explanation of it all from Webalizer... Hits Any request made to the server which is logged, is considered a 'hit'. The requests can be for anything... html pages, graphic images, audio files, CGI scripts, etc... Each valid line in the server log is counted as a hit. This number ...

Re: Let's discuss the Top 25.

iirc, the guide's "stats" are based purely upon the amount of bandwidth drawn from the site, i.e: the more crap a person hasta download from your site, the higher your rating, hence why that pokemonX is there, it used to have embedded Midi's. Really? I didn't know that. Time to cook up a clunky ban...

It's not the most user friendly site...but on the plus side it gives you a lot of freedom. No being restricted to a handful of templates around here. Just take your time...it's not like you have a deadline for getting a site up.

Re: Free Comic Book Day

All the free comics were gone by the time I got to my shop! That's okay though...nice to see it was a success. I've been going to the same shop for 15 years plus and there were a few times business looked a bit iffy for them, but it's been doing better in the past few years. They're the only comic s...

Re: Filler

Never done filler and never will...if I need to miss a few days I just make it up and upload the comics later.

Only time I'd do guest art is if I could arrange for some other artist I really like/respect to do a comic for me.
