I am going to have a hypothetical conversation with myself now: First, before get in a tizzy here, what is SpiderForest? Well, it's a free host to those who n...

What it Takes: Post-apocalyptic martial arts fun (rated R)
Hey guys! My newest comic What it Takes just reached 50 strips, and this my first official "hello, world" forum post here at CG. http://warofwinds.com/what-it-takes/images/cast/colbey.png What it Takes stars Colbey, a heroine on a mission to find a man named Peter Wolfe amid a world gone to hell. Sh...

SpiderForest Webcomic Collective Now Accepting Applications
(as posted at TWCL) Wow, been a mighty long while since I posted on here. Hey all. Don't know if anyone here remembers me, but I have plenty of memories of being a CGer! I've jumped the fence however, and now am here as a representative of SpiderForest . SpiderForest is a webcomic collective that's ...

SpiderForest Webcomic Collective Admissions Open
Hey all! Long time to see. Don't know how many people here remember me, I thought I'd drop a quick note here about SpiderForest accepting applications for new members up until the 23rd of this month. I meant to post here at the beginning of the month, but finals got the better of me. Apologies. In 2...

Re: Something interestingly new in ways of presenting webcomics
Plus, and I don't know if this would ever be the artist's intent, but a print collection of this stuff would be impossible to reproduce correctly. Ah, but that's the point, I think. :D Like my comic, it's meant to only be read over the internet. To put it in print would ruin it. A true webcomic if ...

Re: Something interestingly new in ways of presenting webcomics
I love HERO so much! I even spoke about it in my thesis and another presentation on comics. I think it's wonderful, and I'd love to find out how the hovertext is done. I just wish the hovertext itself could have more formatting.

Re: SpiderForest Webcomic Collective now open for submissions!
I started out on ComicGenesis, and moved to SpiderForest about 2 years back. Still have my CG mirror.
Even being on SF, CG is the FIRST place I recommend to people thinking about a webcomic. This place was the best home for a newbie comicker ever. /random Kez comment.

I don't know about Facebook and Myspace (hiss! hiss!), but toplists, Stumble Upon and Deviant Art are definitely worth the trouble.

Re: Winged Wolf Studio Webcomic Resource Blog
As an aside, I can't help thinking that I'm the one Kallisti refers to! ;) *snorts* hahaha! I am SO curious who he's referring to. It keeps me up at night! In other news, WWS was updated with a webcomic website review of Chirault . The stuff I talk about is definitely applicable to comic sites here...

SpiderForest is a free host, but it's not an "anyone can just fill out a form and join" thing, so I don't know if it counts. There's that whole admissions process.Phalanx wrote:Spiderforest

Ridicule! YAY! <3
Yeah, offering advertising on your site is move that requires a lot of consideration. I'd rather have no ads on my site at all except for PW (I keep finding awesome new comics I'd never heard of before), but alas, I need the money. Ah, well, someday!

Winged Wolf Studio Webcomic Resource Blog
I didn't think belonged in Pitching, TTT or OT, so I'm putting here (besides, this place needs more discussion). A while back, I started a webcomic resource blog named Winged Wolf Studio aimed at both people new to webcomics and old hats confused by new things that are popping up (like Project Wonde...

Re: My new comic - Your thoughts?
The average page is 40 mb. Too big? Yes. I don't think yours are that big though. I'm seeing 400kb (.4MB) For full color pages, I recommend keeping it capped at 500kb (.5MB), and even that's large (5 years ago, the cap was 200kb, thank you high speed internets!), but for black and white, you could ...

Re: My new comic - Your thoughts?
I really like the idea you have going, certainly has a lot of potential. Your paneling and perspectives are quite good. I think you're introducing concepts and names and allegiances VERY fast, in a semi "info-dump" kind of manner. There is no way I can remember all of that, but it doesn't mean it wa...

Re: My new comic - Your thoughts?
Well, there are a LOT of webcomic archiving systems out there that make it NOT so much a headache. ComicGenesis (this place) offers autokeen. You upload your comics, make your site, and they are automatically archived. DrunkDuck has the same, but is much more geared to people who don't want to handl...
