Lem's good. Nicely bizarre stuff. I find the Pirx and Ijon Tichy stories pretty funny. It's been a while since I've read his works. Tarkas, do you know who the translator was? I know at least two people have translated at least some of Lem's works (Kandel and Iribarne), and it might vary with a diff...

Wow. Very nice. Fantasy meets technology with neither losing because of it. And you managed it without the pics looking overdone or cheesy. (sorry about the last bit, but I've seen attemts along similar lines that went terribly, horribly wrong. Including some I've tried making.)
um... it looks c.g...

Thank you for the info. The setup had seemed familiar and I had been getting a mild sense of deja vu.
uh, did I do the quote right?

Wasn't there an X-files along these lines? I may be mistaken, but I seem to recall something of the sort.
Escaping to reality, or just another dream...

Ah... Could it just be a mocking salute? The Fans had had mixed reactions to the offer of assisting the FIB, and then there are Rikk's pills. How many does he actually have, and is it enough to actually cure him? The FIB could use that to control Rikk if it isn't.

I think genetic engineering would probably end up more like "Gattica" then anything else.
However, when speaking of human rights, how would human be defined? In works like "The Ballad of Lost D'Joan" or "Norstrailia" the base DNA used is non-human, so the genicically engineered creatures are consi...

Doesn't mundane mean ordinary, or normal? There is a large percentage of the population who would rather read a fashion mag than either fantasy or sci-fi.
Then again, there are those who would rather not read at all.
I'm under the impression that sci-fi tends to be disliked by non-sci-fi reader...

umm... I'll admit I don't know that much about the 23 sider of power, but given that the entire Hyperman scenario was caused by the 23 sider of power, could it be possible that the entire current scenario was caused by the 23 sider of power in preperation for Agent Jone's want? Or in preperation for...

The beaker or the stopper made of cork, rubber, plastic, or *gasp* glass or metal. Which isn't even used half the time 'coz it's not like an unbelievably powerful acid could give off toxic fumes or anything like that.

I dunno, I think the Matrix was actually an action flick posing as sci-fi. Yes, there was a lot of technology, but it seemed to serve as a vehicle/excuse for the fight scenes. Which were the bits people tended to like. Possibly the "cool toys/I wanna do that" concept... (also, sorry about mangling t...

Sadly though, Johnny Mnemonic isn't really that great a flick. Case was turned into a clone of teenage mutant ninja turtles' April O'neil. She couldn't fight, had to be rescued by Johnny, and didn't even have the inset mirrorshades or the retractable claws... The gladitorial combat on the killing fl...
