I've found that this is always a lose-lose situation. Draw a shoddy background, or no background at all, and people yell at it. Draw a good background, and nobody says anything, because it just feels right and natural to them, no matter how many hours you spent slaving over that one leaf's shading....

Yup, the maximum punishment for rape under the Uniform Code of Military Justice is the death penalty. Also there's a bunch of other stuff in it that if you need to punish a dirtbag, you can find a way to punish a dirtbag. I love the UCMJ. Also if his family is indeed straped for cash they maybe shou...

I just skipped 10 pages or so of this thread, so ignore me if this has all already been said. For starters, I doubt this law would be enforced. It would simply take up too many resources that the federal government would rather spend on real crimes (an example is how certain cities do not enforce ja...

Naww, if it's not sharp pain you're fine. Both times I've gone snowboarding (I'm a snowboarding n00b, and probably won't try again) My butt hurt from falling on it for MONTHS afterward. Like, 2-3 months afterward. So nothing to worry about at a paltry two weeks. :D I disagree. If it's a constant pa...

Re: I've lost that holiday feeling

But I start to feel the spirit once I'm back home with people I care about. I tend to feel that way too. Holidays that bring the family together are nice. This year however, I am feeling kind of Scroogey becuase I have to move to Korea 2 days before Chistmas. My plans for Christmas entail videogame...

I missed this when you pitched it - just found out about it from the "eyes" post in the TT&T forum. I like the art, and while I am hesitant to mention it because you seem to have some sort of complex about it, now that a more consistent story is going on (it seems) I'm really curious to see how the ...

The worst one ever was one that ran in the local community college's newspaper. The layout was confusing, inking horrible, weak story, and it generlly made me want to gouge out my eyeballs. Fortunately I have forgotten it's name.

Re: What do/did you want to be when you grow up?

Please let me know I'm not the only grownup who still doesn't know what she wants to be when she "grows up" . Give me some hope for my pre-midlife crisis :P You are not alone. My current job is something I've been wanting to do for the past eight years, and I've worked really hard and have been pre...

Yeah, a lot of the superhero stuff has gone rather stale in the U.S. comic industry [side point: sadly even when they inject fresh blood, like Orson Scott Card writing Ultimate Iron Man, it still seems bland (he's basically writing Ender's Shadow again)]. I now tend to just go for good stories. I fi...

Oooohhh... sould I debate religion? Give this guy even a small measure of legitimacy by acknowledging his spam? I know I shouldn't, but by god I despise people spaming the boards... *Is amazed that this thread hasn't been locked yet.* Also, I hate my schools library. Nothing is where it's supposed to be. For some reason they like to take large chunks of the dewy decimal system and move them to different floors. So whenever I'm looking for a book the numbers will go something l...

Out library barely has anything cool - it's a University library. I've known Univeristy libraries with pretty good selections, though perhaps my memory is a bit distorted because I the time I had access to the libraries of three different ones. In fact, there was a book that I wish I had stolen fro...

It's good having Gaiman be local. :D I don't know you, but suddenly I hate you. Damn, I wish I could get a signed Anansi Boys, to go next to my signed American Gods and signed Coraline. I liked American Gods, and I liked Anansi Boys. They're both pretty good, and while I think the former's story wa...
