Mac? The only other person I know with that resolution has a Mac... I don't know that many people, so that's not saying much. Lol.
Nope, it's an Acer laptop. Runs Windows.
*shrugs* I dunno, it's weird.

Re: May Search Strings, string them up!

My last search strings contribution! As usual, I remove the several references to "sprite sheets", "sprites", or the like. Because blargle. 39 45.88% patchwork champions --> Yeah, makes a certain amount of sense. 13 15.29% pachwork champons ---> What confuses me is not that someone made this particu...

Well, I'm Off

I mentioned this a while back, but now it has come to pass - my comicking days are done. It chokes me up a bit, because I've been meandering around the back alleys of ComicGenesis since 2003, mugging unsuspecting readers for their lunch money, but I have come to accept that I am, to use the vernacul...

Re: Let's discuss the Top 25.

Wait, wait wait wait wait. Yahtzee Takes On The World is in the Top 25? Really? I mean, don't get me wrong. Despite the crummy art, I was a big fan of that comic. When it was running. In 2000-2002. I mean, it literally ended six years ago. How is it getting that many hits? Entirely on clickthrough f...

Re: Recommend Me A Serial Hosting Site

Interesting. I'll take a look at Wordpress; my comic already has a wiki site, so it might also work as the main site. Could be an interesting way to go about things, and have comment pages and everything. Wonder if I can Wordpress onto the wiki servers... something to look into. Thanks for the help!

Recommend Me A Serial Hosting Site

Because I don't want to be a serial killer. Ouch, that was bad even for me. Ok, brief background. My time as a comicker is coming to an end, and I'm transititioning my comic over to a text serial. Originally, I planned to just start doing text updates on CG, since it has a lovely auto-updater and ev...

Re: Daily Strip Discussion

Jotun: Thanks! I definately have story threads lined up like ducks. ;) Sian: When I started, I felt much the same way, but lately I've been feeling like I'm just going through the motions of artwork. Only one strip in ten actually gets that feeling from me. It could be that I'm too strict on myself....

Is This Okay?

If I turn my comic into a written serial, is it alright for it to remain on ComicGenesis? Basically, I've been meandering along my comic for quite some time now, but it doesn't motivate me the way it used to, and I've basically given up on the artist thing. At the same time, I've committed more to w...

I'm apparantly very strange; my monitor is 1280 by 960. I listed it as 1280 by 800, since it's the closest. ;)

Re: Daily Strip Discussion

Well, she was studying dramatology...

This is more her recognizing a straight line when she hears it, though. Ecchs really wanted someone to use that "you and what army" line. Hell, if I had an army, I'd want them to use it, too. ;)

Re: March Search Strings!

Hey, I'm up to just over 20% of my search strings actually being for my comic. That's nice. Then, if I remove all the "sprite" variants - again - I get the following results: 3 3.57% yeti comic - someone may have been disappointed there 1 1.19% do dryads exist - Yes, Virginia, and they fight crime.

Re: Convention Season!

I'm planning on going to Anime North, but only as a fan.

I'm trying to decide whether dressing as a character from my own comic for it would be unbelievably pretentious. Also whether tricking/persuading friends to do the same is even worse.

Well, it should probably be in the Comic Pitching forum, for one.

That said, it was rather amusing. Your friends have excellent deadpan faces.

Re: Comic Exposure Methods

Advertising, making cameos for other people's comics, going to conventions, and making a damned good comic.

Those are the four most successful methods in my experience (the one ad I ran doubled my long-term readers, actually).

Re: Fan Service in comics: How much to give?

I was thinking of doing a fanservice storyline as a joke. Because, you know, the fanservice wouldn't be very visible. As a rule, it makes me shrug in other comics. Overused, it becomes a strike against a comic instead of for it; I lose confidence if I think the author has that little confidence in t...

Maybe that should be our tagline. "Patchwork Champions: Come for the grammar, stay for the comic."

Re: February Search Strings

Well, once I filter out the 57 variations on the word "sprite" along with the 32 searches for my comic's name or a variation thereof (and still one guy searching for Patchwork Heroes. That guy is persistant, is all I'm saying. The name change was over two years ago.), I'm left with the following: 2 ...
