Re: Comic updating in advance!

I tried to spot the problem by navigating your site but the navigation is completely wonky... Could you post your indextemplate.html and dailytemplate.html code here?

And in any case, running a "full update" would NOT cause a comic to update ahead of time. The problem ought to be somewhere else.

Can't see my own posts...

Well, as the title says, I can't see my own posts... I can see them if I go into the control panel and click on "view my posts" or whatever, but once I jump to a thread, my posts just aren't there...

Help?

Re: What's the deal?

The comic format ought to be YYYYMMDD, not YYYYDDMM. Example: http://hotep.comicgenesis.com/d/20081802.html is wrong. It ought to be "20080218".

Re: What's the deal?

Weird, my previous post in this thread has disappeared... Anyway. Check for the following: -The file ought to be named exactly indextemplate.html Make sure there are NO capitals whatsoever, and that the extension is .html and not .htm. -Make sure the comics are uploaded to workspace/comics and NOT t...

Yyyyyyyyep, that's bad. Basically, comicgenesis creates your index page from the info stored in indextemplate.html. Without this file, your index page will never update... But fear not! I notice you have basically the same layout for your index and archive pages. So create a copy of dailytemplate.ht...

What date is the most recent comic supposed to be? Double-triple-quadruple check the comic file name. Yes, even if you are certain you've done so already. Make sure there are no typos, such as an extra "0" somewhere. Do you have a file named index.html in your workspace/webpages folder? If so, delet...

I second this suggestion, it is *extremely* newbie-friendly.

And once you're done reading it, go back to the first few pages, look at the backgrounds they drew, and weep.

Well, IMHO, you have two things to keep in mind: -Unless you have mad skillz, consider drawing things bigger than they will appear on screen/in print. That is because little mistakes (squiggly lines and such) tend to disappear when you shrink an image. -How much touch-up are you ready to do in photo...

First of all, congrats on a very complete post. :) Well, first thing I'd check would be capitalization and typos. The source code says -- <img src="/images/TOPL2.jpg" -- but your post mentions an image named "top2.jpg". You have to make sure the image name is exactly the same on the server and on yo...

I've had trouble logging into the siteadmin too when I resurrected Agaric last week. It took me several refreshes and a restart of the browser or two to get things working. Have you tried maybe clearing your cache?

I have absolutely no clue what will happen to your tracker, sorry. :( But the changes will be reflected as soon as* you upload the new indextemplate to your account and trigger a manual regular update.

*well, "as soon as"... give a few minutes to actually process the update request. :P

Indeed. I think we've found our problem. If you don't mind your past and current pages looking the same (except for the comic, of course) for the time being, replace the code in indextemplate.html with the code currently in dailytemplate.html . For some reason, the ***tags*** are not on your indexte...

Well, you said you modified your templates at some point, so... Open the indextemplate.html file as if you were to modify it, but instead, hit ctrl+a (to select everything), then ctrl+c (to copy). Then, post a reply here, on the forum. Hit ctrl+v (to paste), and surround what you pasted with [ code]...

Could you post the current text of both templates here? Surround it by [ code] [ /code] tags.

A graphics tablet is like a flat piece of plastic over which you hold a special "pen". When the tip of that pen is close to the tablet, it takes control of your mouse cursor. The graphics tablet becomes like your screen, i.e. if you put your pen in the middle of the table, your mouse cursor moves to...

Besides, this bit of code you posted: <p> </tr> <td class="news" bgcolor="#000000" align=center> <h1>News</h1> <p>***todays_notes***</p> </tr> <p> looks an awful lot like this bit of code from the source of your index page: <p> </tr> <td class="news" bgcolor="#000000" align=center> <h1>News</h1> <p>...

Please provide a link to your website. Double-triple-quadruple check the spelling of everything (folders, files, tag itself). Yes, do that even if you're certain you've done it already. Make sure you have actually uploaded a new copy of your indextemplate.html with the ***todays_notes*** tag. Make s...
